About Discord's colors

Discord's signature colour is Blurple (#5865F2) — a blue-purple hybrid so distinctive it earned its own coined name. In 2021 Discord refreshed it from the older #7289DA to today's brighter, more accessible value. Blurple powers the logo, primary buttons and mentions.

The supporting palette is semantic: Green (#57F287) signals online and success, Red (#ED4245) signals do-not-disturb and destructive actions, with Yellow and Fuchsia rounding it out. The interface itself uses warm dark greys (#313338, #2C2F33) rather than pure black, which makes it feel more inviting.

Setting a Discord role colour

In Server Settings → Roles, select a role and choose a custom colour by hex. Copy any value above, or design your own with the colour picker and check its contrast against Discord's dark background for readability.
