About Color Code Kit
Color Code Kit is a free toolkit of colour tools for developers and designers — built to be fast, accurate and free of signups.
What this is
Color Code Kit brings together the colour tools developers and designers reach for every day: a colour picker, a universal format converter, a WCAG contrast checker, a colour-blindness simulator, gradient and mesh-gradient generators, a dark-mode palette generator, an image colour extractor, a palette exporter, and a large library of colour-code references — named colours, shades, palettes, comparisons and platform code charts.
Everything runs in your browser. There is no account to create, nothing to install, and no paywall on exports. Where a tool processes an image or a colour, that work happens locally on your device — it is not uploaded to a server.
The "honest" part
We try hard not to overclaim. A contrast tool shows you the real WCAG numbers rather than promising colours "automatically pass." A mesh gradient is described as a CSS mesh-style gradient, because true warped-grid meshes can't be pure CSS. A dark-mode palette is a real transform of surfaces, accents and text — not a colour inversion. The goal is tools you can trust because they tell you what they actually do.
Accuracy
All colour conversions — HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, OKLCH and CMYK — are computed with standard, verified maths. Reference data like CSS named colours, Tailwind palette values and platform brand colours is checked against authoritative sources. If you ever spot something wrong, please let us know.
Part of a wider network
Color Code Kit is one of a family of free online tools covering calculators, developer utilities, text and time helpers, and more. You can browse the full set on the Free Tools page.
How it's funded
The site is free to use and supported by advertising. We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are useful and advertising partners (including Adsterra and Google AdSense) to keep the tools free. You can read exactly what data is involved on our privacy page.
